What we did:

I worked with the two co-founders of Anyon Atelier to design and build a custom website showcasing products and allowing customers to purchase directly from the site.

Problem:

The two co-founders needed website design & build for their store Anyon Atelier based in San Francisco. The website needed to showcase their luxury items, awards, press releases, and design services.

Solution

I worked with the co-founders to custom-design a website that met their needs. I designed in sketch and built the website in shopify.

Design

Anyon Atelier provides luxury home products and design services in the Bay Area. The aesthetic is clean, minimal and fresh and we wanted the design to reflect that. We started by mapping the sitemap. The co-founders wanted to showcase their products, design services, press releases, and portfolio. I worked with them to logically set up their site in a way that's easy to navigate and showcases their beautiful products and portfolio.

I focused the design around imagery, which is evident in the carousel on the homepage, the gallery of products, and the minimal use of words on the product pages. In order to provide authenticity the site showcases its blog, about us page, and social links in an easy-to-find top navigation.

Build

The website was built using Shopify. We started using a template, and I made tweaks in Shopify's Javascript, HTML, and CSS pages in order to customize the design. Images were provided by Anyon Atelier.

We build the website for Desktop web, testing to make sure it looks great on mobile web as well.

Learnings

This project allowed me to step in the shoes of a small business owner and build a website from start to finish. I learned the art of listening to people to translate their vision into a concrete design. It helped me grow as a designer as this was my first project using Shopify.
