WeWork Guest Pass
What we did:
This feature gives the ability for WeWork members to invite up to 7 guests for the day.
Problem:
WeWork pass holders needed a way to collaborate with business partners or people in their organization who do not have a WeWork pass. We needed a seamless last minute way for people to easily invite others into a WeWork space.
Solution
This feature makes it easy to browse and book rooms inside a WeWork and invite guests into that space over a certain duration. Guests receive their passes via email instantly.
Customer Journey
We created a customer journey map to build a better understanding of how customers would use this feature in conjunction with booking a room. The option to invite fits nicely in the room detail page before the user checks out and books the space. We decided to keep the flow simple by requesting an email and asking for a name to personalize the invite from the receiver side. The keycard was immediately activated via email for the recipient and opened a detail page providing location, date, time, and a community manager to help them.
Design
Using Sketch we built the invite feature into the room booking feature. When a user browses WeWork rooms to book they have the option to add up to 7 guests, Their guest(s) receive their electronic pass to use for that day.

Next steps - improvements
To improve this flow I would make some UI changes to the icons since they are difficult to see, its hard to see the detail of adding from the address book on the guest name field for example. Showing the disabled button is also distracting for the user and makes the overall feel a bit more clunky. Future iterations could also benefit from allowing people to invite either through email or phone number.
Learnings
This project was a small but powerful one to get right. When WeWork pass holders can easily invite others we introduce more people to WeWork spaces. The ease of adding new people has great potential to bring on new WeWork members and keep the current ones happy.
